Market day in Josselin is Saturday and well worth a visit. The lovely Nantes-Brest waterway runs through Josselin and past Lantillac - you can fish, walk, kayak or cycle. Ploërmel, with its lake and manmade beach, is close by for a refreshing swim or watersports. Ploërmel has old houses and buildings and several forests are close at hand, whilst the memory of Merlin enchants in Brocieland - a great adventure day out.
It is an ideal place for resting yet is also a great touring base, being situated one hour from both the north and west coast.. Rennes is only one hour away with a superb Saturday morning market with its fresh fruit, vegetables, salad, fish, meat, charcuterie and scrumptious pies, pastries etc (watch that waistline whilst you eat your way around the market enjoying the many samples!).
